Rose Gold Make Up Diy & FOTD: Feat. Drugstore Brands

Hey Angels!

I have been obsessed with finding the prefect Rose Gold shade. As far as Indian Drugstore brands go I wasn't able to find any close match in the eyeshadow line. Hence I came up with this tutorial to introduce you to the easiest possible way of reaching the Rose Gold Shade with the help of easy to find brands. So lets get started!

Rose Gold is defined as a pink-tinted metal which is gold with an added copper alloy. The more copper alloy in the metal, the deeper the rosy tones will be. In easy words Rose Gold is a metallic golden copper shade with beautiful pink hues!

How To Create:

Eyes: The idea over here is to mix gold, with copper and pink. So begin by patting a gold creamy eyeshadow on the lid lid area. Apply a copper shade on top of the gold. Later stamp the pink eyeshadow on top of this base. The trick over here is to use your fingers to pat in the 3 products. Finish with a natural brown shade in the crease area for a smooth transition.

Products Used- Here I have used 2 shades from the Makeup Revolution Iconic 2 Palette, Iconic # 1(UD Half Baked) and Iconic # 4 (UD Chopper) with a Hot Pink shade from Faces Cosmetics Sparkle Dust (Wild). Makeup Revolution can be easily traced online in India. Or, one can find copper, gold and pink eyeshadows easily in other drugstore brands ( We recommend: Revlon Colorstay Shadow Links in Copper, Maybelline Diamond Glow Quad Eyeshadow in Wine Pink and Copper Brown). The result of mixing these together is a beautiful Rose Gold Shade!

Lips: For the Lips I have used Lakme 9 to 5 Matte Lipstick in Rosy Sunday on top of which I have layered a very frosty pink lipstick, L'Oreal Color Riche Lipstick in Rose Tendre. In the end I dabbed some gold eyeshadow on the centre of my lips to create the perfect Rose Gold Lips!

The thing with ready to use Rose Gold shades available in the high end brands is that they are super expensive and show up differently on different skin tones. Some even fail to show their pink hues on darker skin. With the method provided above one can easily create their perfect version of rose gold by altering the amount of pink, copper and gold based on their skin tone.

" Smoky Eye has a permanent and irreplaceable place in our hearts but it cannot be ignored that sometimes the simplest of looks can be the prettiest!  Unfortunately such unique and gorgeous shades are not easily available to us, and when we get our hands on it, we find they are super expensive and hardly show up on Indian Skin. Let me know how this look turns out for you and do share your pictures on my facebook page here."
