Victoria's Secret-Beauty Rush Sweet Tease Daily Moisture Body Lotion

I totally believe in moisturizing my body all the year round but with Summer already knocking our door (in Pune) i had to give up using my daily body butter.
I love using a luxurious brand like Victoria Secrets in my shower routine which perks up my mood with amazing fragrance and make me feel special. I also find that these lotions do a better job in keeping the body moisturised than others.
So i went to buy a birthday gift for a friend, and as usual i ended up buying some thing for myself too.

First thing i was attracted to was the packaging of the lotion. It not only feels but also looks luxorious!
Like all other items of VS this stuff smells awesome. Just like the name suggests it is sweet and delicious! I would describe the scent as berries with a hint of vanilla in it.
People often ask me what fragrance i am wearing when i layer this lotion under a sweet foody perfume. The fragrance of the body lotion does linger on for quite some time as well.
The texture of the cream is not heavy. I would say it is a bit on the runny side, which is why i find it perfect for summers.

PRICE- Rs 720 for 200 ml

pros-
  • light moisturizer,good for summers
  • smells delicious
  • lingering fragrance
  • makes a sweet perfume last longer
  • cute packaging
cons-
  • the biggest con is not a surprise, it is not easily available in india.
  • pricey
  • people who dont like sweet scents stay away

Last Words-

I absolutely love this lotion. However the smell can be over powering for some. So i would suggest you to smell it before you spend. I also believe this was a limited edition but you can chase for it easily on online shopping websites.

Pond's Gold Radiance Boosting Cleansing Mousse- Review

Helooooo!
To begin with i would like to explain my skin type, it gets very dry and flaky in winters and a little oily during summers..sob..sob!
This winter when my skin was acting crazy i opted for this cleanser. Also, this was my first step towards trying an anti-ageing product.

Price- Rs 350/ for 150 ml

Packaging- Golden colored bottle with pump style diffuser.

The face wash reminds me of Himalaya face wash foam. It is neither too creamy nor gel like. The face wash does not seem to be too soapy like many other face washes.  I would describe the texture as a lighter version of hair mousse. It is not over drying on my face and also cleaned my face well and hence i did not face any breakouts.

One more point worth noting is that this product will never finish! I swear, you just need one pump and so it goes on forever...i personally have it since 2 months now!!
Till this point i have no complains with the face wash. BUT the major set back is the 'smell'. Ive never come across a worse smelling face wash. Seriously it is so unpleasant this it makes me overlook all the favorable things about the product and just concentrate on the SMELL! My roommate too finds it gross..
I wish Pond's had not done this!

pros-
  • cleanses the face well
  • moisturises so good for dry skin
  • no soapy feel
  • attractive packaging
  • will last long
cons-
  • smell might be unpleasant to many

Last Words-

If you have dry skin and if the smell does not bother you much, you can consider buying it.

Maybelline The Jewels Colorsensational Lipstick- Rubylicious Review+Swatches

I was on my lookout for a wearable red lippie when i came across this product. When the SA swatched this shade on my hand i found it to be a rich and strong color which complimented my complexion quite well.

The packaging of the lipstick is quite user friendly with its name written at the bottom, which helps in identifying the lipstick.
price- Rs 350/

The texture of the lipstick is glossy and creamy. It does not contain shimmer and the color can be build up according to one's need. Usually 2 swipes are enough on my lips. It is neither sticky nor drying.Hence i am quite happy with the pigmentation of the product.

(one swipe)

The lasting power of Rubylicious is also very good. I dont find it to get patchy after a few hours like other dark lippies. It has to be removed properly with a makeup remover.

The above pictures were taken in diffused sunlight. (Also, this is the first time i am doing lip swatches and i realised it is not an easy task! Hats off to all those beauties who do it so well! I still have a long way to go...). Also although i have not used a lip brush to apply the shade, i would advice you to use a brush.

Pros-
  • budget find
  • wearable red color for indian skintone
  • awesome pigmentation
  • good staying power
  • glossy with no shimmer
Cons-

  • it has mild fragrance and taste (quickly fades away) which might not be appealing to some.

Last words-

Lovely shade with awesome pigmentation and staying power. Reasonable priced too!

Celebs at Zee Cine Awards 2014

Hello Everyone!

So today i thought of doing a post on some of the looks of celebriteies that i found 'interesting' in the award ceremony.

I begin this post with the most successful actor of 2013, Deepika Padukone. In my opinion she always manages to look ravishing! However this time i think her sparkling silver sequined dress did not do justice. She could have done better. Also i wish she had skipped that silver chain head wrap.

Priyanka Chopra chose to keep it traditional this time and we all know that ''a Saree always works''! I   like how she didn't do much with the accessories, keeping her look simple and nice! The neon pink border on her saree really looks pretty.

Amrita Rao surprisingly looks awesome. Love her hair do and make up!

While the bright yellow mermaid dress might be a little too much for some people, i think Yami does a great job carrying it off.

In my opinion not everyone looks good in a floor length anarkali. But Genelia looks fabulous as always!

Swara Bhaskar, now i really dont know what to say! I know some people have found her dress out of the world. But for me it was a little too much..i mean i felt she was a little over dressed (keeping in my mind that she was actually not going to perform in the event). I wish she had not tried so hard!

Coming to the Star of the evening, who seemed to have lost a lot of weight, Sonakshi Sinha. I think she looked fantastic in the fishtail gown. She carried off the golden spiked headband amazingly well.
I love her makeup and her intention not to over do her look with a lot of unnecessary accessories.

The views expressed above are that of my own. I know these kinds of opinions are subjective.
I would love to know who you found the best dressed in the event :)

Little Things!

So, i thought of sharing some cute little things in my stash with you. I am a sucker for cute stuff..i buy things knowing that i may never get a chance to use them.  However the things that i am going to share with you today are surprisingly coming to great use for me. While buying these things i was quite sure that these things would just end up looking cute in my stash until one fine day, when i would get bored and give it all away!

Okay so the first thing i am going to share is a beautiful pair of feather earrings that i got from FC Road few days back. It looks so delicate and seems perfect for welcoming summers! Some day i hope to post a picture of me wearing it.

price- Rs 100/-

Time to share my 3 little dahlings which do an amazing job keeping my hair in place. I have long hair which is quite difficult to tie and keep in place. No matter how much i try, my hair would always open and get messy in a couple of hours.

The left most blue accessory is a rubber band which reminds me of a telephone wire...isnt that cool?
The band is of great quality and does not get entangled with my hair.
The accessory in the middle of the picture is that of a pair of neon pink snap clip. Yeah, i too gave in to the 'neon craving'!
Lastly the neon pink hair stick travelled all the way from Korea to reach me. They are dirt cheap and i believe you can easily get it in India too. It is so easy to make a bun with this stick. It looks super feminine and gives you a neat look.
price of all these accessories was under Rs 100.
I can undoubtedly conclude that these cute little things are very important in a girl's world.
Go ahead and share the most cute and useful things in your stash..xoxo!

L'oreal Paris Kajal Magique-Supreme Black Review~ not black enough!

Hey everyone!
Today i am going to review a newly launched budget kajal from l'oreal. I was so excited to see this product in the counter ( just a day after they started promotions)that i ran to grab it. Dont you love it when you spot a newly launched product so soon?
ok so lets see how it worked out for me.

Price- Rs 245 for 0.35 gm
Ingredients- Added goodness of Enriched with Vitamin-E, Cocoa Butter, Olive Oil Esters and Vitamin-C derivative.
Packaging- like it's competitors it is shaped like a retractable pen with a tightly fitted cap. I personally find the pink and black combination quite appealing.

Review-

To begin, with i really like the creamy texture of this product. I often tend to break kajals, may be because in a hurry i apply too much pressure ( bad habit, i know) but this one didnt break! Also, it is quite easy to remove. It does not make you look like you were punched in the eye the next morning!

This product claims to be 'supreme black', to which i dont agree. It needs to be swiped several times to get the desired intense black look. Speaking about lasting power i would say that it is again disappointing. On the upper lash line it stays for 6 hours or so and on the lower lash line it just disappears after around 3 hours. I also found the product accumulating in the corner of my eyes...ewww i know!

pros-
  • creamy in texture
  • affordable
  • travel friendly
  • classy packaging
  • easy to remove
  • smudge free
cons-
  • not black enough
  • poor staying power
  • accumulates in the corner of the eyes

would i re-purchase?

may be not, i think i will go back to my maybelline colossal kajal.

Pond's White Beauty BB Cream Review

Hello Everyone!

So, this winter my skin was going crazy. Not only was it getting extremely dry but i was also facing breakouts every now and then :( . During summers i was using the Maybelline bb stick, which was doing a fabulous job for me. However it started flaking my skin as winters approached. The month of November was the worst for me, I remember going to various cosmetic stores trying out bb creams for every day use but as the SA would apply the cream my skin would start flaking.
So one day to my rescue came the lovely Ponds bb cream. I had never used Ponds in my life so i was really scared in the beginning.

Price- Rs 125 for 18 gm

Ponds BB Cream Ingredients: Water, Cyclopentasiloxane,  Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Niacinamide,, Glycerin, Dimethicone Crosspolymer,  Potassium Chloride, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Magnesium Sulphate, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Cholesterol, Bisabolol, Perfume, DMDM Hydrantoin, Dimethicone, Sucrose Distearate, Allantoin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Disodium Edta, Butylene Glycol, bht, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Zingiber Officinale (ginger) Root Extract, (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)

Review- Coming to my experience with the product, this baby is awesome! It blends very easily into the skin and i found that it even photographs well. it contains spf 30 PA++ which protects us from the harmful raise of the sun and ageing.

                      (before)

(after blending)

See, it blends so well! Also this cream provides good coverage and moisturisation throughout the day. However i would not advice you to skip your daily moisturiser. One does need to set this up with powder for it to last longer. For dry skinned beauties this a sure winner. However those with oily skin may not find it apt. but the good news for oily skinned beauties is that you can use it as a primer to make your eyeshadows last longer! One more fact worth noting is that it did not cause me any breakouts. Also it lasts for 3 hours or so.
You for sure must be convinced regarding how much i adore this bb cream. I bet it can give a run to other high end brands in the bb cream world!

pros-
  • moisturisation for dry skin
  • good coverage
  • contains spf 30 PA++
  • can be used as an eyeshadow primer as well
  • a little goes a long way
cons-
  • only one shade available
  • needs to be set with powder
  • not suitable for oily skin
  • needs touch ups after 3 hours of application
would i re-purchase? yes, ofcourse..this my 3rd tube already!

Dupe for Soap and Glory Hand Food?

 Hi dolls!
Today i am going to compare the much loved Soap and Glory hand food and Dirty Works hand cream.

Price of Soap and Glory Hand Food is Rs 400 (50ml)
Price of Dirty Works Hand cream is Rs 459 (100ml)

Both products come in similar tube-like packaging. Also both the products are rather cute to look at.
Talking of fragrance both have amazing fragrance that linger on for quite some time. The fragrance of hand food is as we all know quite difficult to explain. However it does remind me of something sweet..candy like with a slight floral feel to it! Dirty works hand cream also smells quite similar.

Talking of consistency i find hand food to be only slightly thicker than dirty works hand cream. Both creams get absorbed by the skin quickly and dont feel greasy at all. i especially love to use it after being in contact with water for quite some time. Both creams do a pretty good job sealing moisture to my hands.

Lastly, i would like to conclude by saying that both creams are a great buy. Considering Price dirty works is a sure winner, it can be called a dupe for hand food. In terms of moisturisation also it does a pretty good job.  Also it is available to us on various Indian shopping websites unlike the soap and glory hand food.

My Sephora Experience+ budget haul!

Okay, so i have been to my sister's place (Delhi) two times in the past 1 year and the very first thing i have to do as i reach there, is cry out ''SEPHORA''! Seriously Sephora opening in India was the best news for all we beauties, and i really hope they open their online website soon. Also, they are opening a second store in Delhi, this makes me so jealous! Okay, so i better share my haul with you guys now, i can go on and on about 'sephora' (until i'm asked to stop)!

My Experience-So, i've been to sephora 2 times now and yes, i did some homework before going there. I got to know at first from my research that the Indian Sephora was pricier in comparison to States (well, truly speaking i was not surprised).  The second thing was that many people complained regarding the staff not being very helpful. However, speaking of my experience i would call it a rather 'pleasant' one. In fact i came out of the store very happy and satisfied. I think either the staff got changed or i was just lucky to meet the courteous ones. I personally found a girl named 'Meenakshi' very helpful.

Haul from my latest trip-

(From left to right)
1. The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Foam. Price- Rs. 400
2. Soap And Glory Flake Away-Price- Rs 350 approx.
3. Sephora head to toe moisturiser- Rs 720
4. The Face Shop hyaluronic acid face mask-Rs 100 per sheet.

So, you can call this haul of mine to be a budgetary one! I wanted to try a variety of products this time. And i hope to share the reviews with you soon.
