Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick :Posh Plum Review

Hello Everyone!

As we come closer to winter it is time for us to skip the bright summer shades and endorse all deep/dark shades. I was in search for a deep plum lipstick when I came across the Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Posh Plum.  Yes, just as the name suggests it is a dark plum coloured lippie perfect for those who are brave enough to sport a vampish look this winter!
Price- Rs 299/-

Undoubtedly this is one of the most affordable lipsticks in the market. The packaging is sleek and sturdy, no issues with that either!

Texture & Pigmentation- This is where the lipstick disappoints me a bit. The texture of the lipstick is definitely not soft and smooth. It goes on a little hard and can get patchy after a few hours of application. Also the formula is not moisturising enough for dry chapped lips. So application of a lip balm is a must. After a few hours the lipstick can emphasize dry lips. Talking of pigmentation, it scores well here. The rich bold plum shade shows up on our Indian Skin tone.  However it does leave a stain behind.

Lasting Power- Colorbar Posh Plum Lipstick lasts for 2-3 hours after which it starts to get patchy.

Pros-

  • affordable
  • pigmented
  • rich bold shade for winters
  • sturdy packaging

Cons-

  • texture is a bit hard
  • emphasizes dry chapped lips
  • gets patchy after a few hours
  • leaves a stain behind

"The shade Posh Plum is perfect for the cold season. I think deep shades go beautifully on all skin tones.
For the price that it comes, it is difficult for me to complain much about the texture. However I wish it would be a bit more moisturising!  What do you beauties think about this lipstick?
Do share!"

  5. Such a nice shade for Fall and Winter, but I can understand what you mean about the drying formula; I can see it in the pictures, too. Nevertheless, it is a very attractive shade and maybe will work will with a super moisturizing lip balm. :o)
