So L'Oreal came up with a rather affordable compact powder and it has been all around since then. I took a while to judge it as the collection of shades does not fit in perfectly for olive skin tones. Lets see if it really does what it promises-Primes, perfects and brightens.
Price-Rs 399 for 6g
One thing you just cannot ignore about the product is the gorgeous shiny pink packaging. I mean at this price they give you a compact with 2 compartments, which comprises a mirror and good quality sponge. The packaging is same as their True Match compact powders, which is priced at a whooping price. So a big thumbs up to L'Oreal! My only issue is that flipping between the compartments can be a pain when you are in a hurry :(.
Fragrance wise there is nothing overpowering or special. It smells like a regular compact powder to me. The Shade Vanilla Ivory is a little whitish for me in the beginning (I am a NC 42). But as it sets, I feel it becomes more natural. Below is a picture of the shade in natural lighting.
Texture & Efficacy:
The texture of the powder is smooth and refined. It blends easily and sets within seconds. There is no fall out and surprisingly I like using the sponge provided for a more even finishing. Also when I use the sponge I feel their is higher coverage and pores are better shrinked. The end result is a flat matte finish which lasts for 3-4 hours. Yes, the promise of 12 hour lasting power is unfortunately not true. Another major issue I am facing is that it emphasis dry patches on my skin if not moisturized heavily. The powder gives medium coverage, and effectively shrinks pores. Considering, you dry skinned doves moisturise very well,L'Oreal Mat Magique All in One Matte Transforming Powder makes a fairly good every day compact powder. It is light and not cakey, blends well, conceals blemishes and contains spf! Talking of oily skin girls, dont think twice-Just Grab it!
Pros-
- blends well
- smoothens skin
- shrinks pores
- contains spf
- gives matte finishing
- medium coverage
- pretty packaging
- affordable
Cons-
- flipping compartments can be time consuming
- shade collection is limited for dusky skin tones
- enhances dry skin patches
"Overall, L’Oreal Mat Magique All In One Matte Transforming Powder is a good every day option to keep yourself shine free at an affordable price. The packaging is one of a kind, and it offers spf. Definitely recommended for all you matte skin lovers out there!"
This sure seems like a great matte compact, I'll be sure to try it soon. Thanks for a detailed review
